Wan Hai Lines Launches New Direct Vietnam-Thailand-India Shipping Route with Grand Ceremony

Taipei, May 8, 2025 – Wan Hai Lines has officially launched its new direct shipping service, the Tamil Nadu–Thailand Express (TTX service), marking a significant milestone in its expansion into the Indian market. The service made its debut with arrivals at Chennai and Visakhapatnam Ports in India on May 5 and 6, 2025. To commemorate this momentous event, Wan Hai’s India team and local terminal operators held a grand inaugural ceremony, showcasing the company’s strengthened commitment to India’s growing trade market.

The Tamil Nadu–Thailand Express (TTX) service is designed to cater to the increasing demand for efficient and reliable shipping solutions between Vietnam, Thailand, and India. This new route will provide smoother and more convenient access for customers, supporting the rapidly growing bilateral trade between these countries. The service operates on a fixed schedule using four vessels, each with a capacity of 2,200 TEUs, completing a full rotation every 28 days.

The maiden voyage of the TTX service was successfully completed by the WAN HAI 317, which departed from Cai Lai Port in Vietnam on April 20, 2025. The full port rotation for the service includes Cai Lai – Laem Chabang – Singapore – Port Klang (North) – Chennai – Visakhapatnam – Port Klang (North) – Singapore – Cai Lai.

Wan Hai has been actively operating in India for over 29 years, establishing a strong presence across the country’s major east, west, and south coast ports. The launch of the TTX service marks a major expansion of Wan Hai’s operations and reinforces its position in the competitive Indian market.

India, with its robust manufacturing sector and rising consumer demand, is considered a high-potential emerging market for ocean freight. Wan Hai Lines views India as a key focus area for growth and plans to continue investing in the South Asian market, meeting the increasing demand for shipping services and further strengthening its regional presence.
